After his Physics degree Will spent a few years travelling and working at all sorts of unrelated jobs before coming to Birmingham to study Computer Science in 2001. Before joining Cercia he was a researcher on MOBILearn, an EU project looking at how context-aware mobile devices can support informal learning. Will enjoys travelling, outdoor pursuits and cycling.
Will is network co-ordinator for the Nature Inspired Creative Design cluster, part of the EPSRC/AHRC 'Design 21' initiative. The cluster is looking at how processes and algorithms found in nature might be applied to our own design processes to produce more innovative, robust and creative designs, and has a cross-disciplinary membership from institutions all over the country.
