During November 2005, Cercia held a two-day workshop on Computational Intelligence and Applications.
You can still view the programme for the day with abstracts for each talk. In addition to this, you can also download the slides from the presentations.
The Cercia Workshop on Computational Intelligence and Applications was a 2-day workshop that took place on the 15th and 16th of November. The list of speakers was very high calibre and drawn from far and wide. The audience had a similarly diverse make-up including mathematicians, chemists, physicists etc. along with computer scientists. There was a great deal of interest from industry with delegates from large companies such as Glaxo-SmithKline and BT, - indicative of the interesting and cutting-edge nature of the talks.
The speakers did not disappoint and their findings were very illuminating, sparking extremely useful debates.
As well as the talks themselves, the workshop provided excellent networking opportunities with many potential collaborations being formed, often between seemingly unrelated disciplines and businesses.
All in all, this was an event that was well worth attending; if it's repeated next year, mark it in your diary!
