As a result of successful grant applications to the Royal Society (RS) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC), Prof. Xin Yao (Cercia Director) and his Chinese collaborators co-organised the 2004 UK-China Workshop on Nature Inspired Computation and Applications in Hefei, China, on 25-29 October 2004, in conjunction with the 2004 International Workshop on Nature Inspired Computation and Applications ( http://nical.ustc.edu.cn/nica2004/index.html).

13 internationally leading researchers from UK, USA, France, Japan, Canada and China gave invited talks on a wide range of topics in na Current Job Vacanciestural computation during the 5-day workshop, which was attended by more than 100 participants.
