Cercia research fellow wins BIBEMS collaboration funding

BIBEMS Internal collaboration funding has been awarded to Cercia Research Fellow, Dr. Xiaoli Li, for the project “Analysis of Information Flow among Cells with Graphical Modelling”.

The dynamic interactions among thousands of cells lead a complex network of behaviours. Cell excitation and relaxation depend on the ionic currents that pass through a variety of membrane channels. However, the details of signal propagation along and between cardiac cells are still poorly understood. The project aims to adapt a graph method and multivariate phase synchronization to understand the signal propagation in cell-based network.

This project is in collaboration with Dr Gu, Medical School at The University of Birmingham.
