19-10-2007 - A team led by Cercia has won an EPSRC grant on "Multi-disciplinary Optimisation and Data Mining at Birmingham". The primary aim of this 3-year project is to bring researchers in optimisation and data mining in Birmingham together, identify major multi-disciplinary research challenges and explore innovative ideas and approaches to tackling them.

He will be with us for 12 months, working on interactive evolutionary computation for creative design, e.g., fashion design.

02-07-2007 - Two Cercia research fellows, Shan He and Siang Yew Chong, have been awarded the Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships for this year. The success rates for the fellowships were 7%, 8% and 8% respectively, in 2004, 2005 and 2006, a testimony to how competitive they are.
